Come with us to open the exhibition Jakub Janovský: Bird In a Cage
The almost fairy-tale-sounding title BIRD IN A CAGE refers to the contradictory state of instant association. Prison or freedom, depending on whether the cage is occupied or left empty. However, this meaning ambiguity of polarity is problematized by the author and his exhibition project. It remains open what all the "cage" can symbolize for the "bird" and whether it sometimes attracts him precisely because it sets clear limits to boundless freedom. The door is open, but there is something present that prevents him from leaving the cage, or that he accepts as an unchangeable given. The exhibition will present the author's new paintings, sculptures and moving images in a mutual installation connection. The accompanying printed material for the project will be an original author's leporelo. The curator of the exhibition is Petr Vaňous.
