Martin Salajka
Martin Salajka's exhibition at Trafo Gallery turns to the roots of the artist's work, where his painting aesthetics began to take shape, and from where he never left – to nature. The new paintings reflect a long-standing fascination with its secrets, its ability to awaken endless fantasies, but also destructive forces that retaliate against any insensitive human intervention through threatening elements. The title of the exhibition, meaning fog or nebula, refers to something unclear, indistinct, to the fascination with the indeterminacy of forms, variability and the cycle of life and death in general. The nervous painter's handwriting seems to copy the omnipresent movement that cannot be stopped, through the layered matter of colors, everything experienced, seen, and sensed is torn from the bowels of nature onto the canvas.
